Classic retro adidas design worn by RC Strasbourg when they won their first and only French Division 1 title. A certain Arsène Wenger, at the age of 28 towards the end of his career, joined Strasbourg. Initially as a reserve player, to provide experience for youth players to aid his old mentor/manager Max Hild. However, first team manager Gilbert Gress decided to play Wenger in the UEFA Cup against Duisburg in November 1978, his first senior appearance. And again two more times in the league, he was given a first team appearance. Strasbourg won the league for the first time ever that season and after that, Wenger essentially ran the reserve and youth team for the next two years after his brief playing stint.
