Notes

The New York Rangers' 1980-81 season was highlighted by a resilient playoff run that saw them reach the NHL Semifinals. After finishing the regular season with 74 points and fourth in the Patrick Division, the team found its stride in the postseason, defeating the Los Angeles Kings and the St. Louis Blues in consecutive series. Led by Anders Hedberg, who topped the team with 70 points, and strong contributions from Ed Johnstone and Ron Greschner, the Rangers demonstrated great character and determination before eventually falling to the New York Islanders.
