Very rare away shirt as worn during the 1989 title decider at Anfield. The odds were stacked against Arsenal who had failed to win at Anfield in 15 years and needed a two goal deficit to secure the crown - a scoreline Liverpool hadn't suffered at Anfield in three years. The tie was watched by over 12 million people who saw Arsenal nullify Liverpool's attacking threat with a switch to fiver at the back. The Gunners took the lead in the 52nd minute through talisman Alan Smith but despite constant pressure it looked like the title would remain at Anfield. That was until Michael Thomas burst through the midfield and collected the ball from ricochet and kept his composure to clip the ball over Bruce Grobbelaar to claim Arsenal's first title in 15 years. The design was also worn over the next two season where Arsenal recovered from a 4th place finish to win the First Division once again - suffering just one league defeat all season away to Chelsea
