Home shirt as worn when Sweden failed to qualify for Euro 1988 in West Germany. They won their qualification group for the 1990 World Cup ahead of England and went on to their first World Cup game in 12 years. However, the World Cup campaign ended quickly after three defeats in the group stage, against Brazil, Scotland and Costa Rica
