Notes

The 1990-91 campaign was a turbulent year of transition and healing for Fiorentina, with La Viola finishing 12th in Serie A following the controversial sale of club idol Roberto Baggio to rivals Juventus the previous summer. Despite the off-field drama and the shadow of the recent UEFA Cup Final loss, the team secured a crucial mid-table spot, anchored by the joint-top league goalscorers, Diego Fuser and Massimo Orlando, who each netted 8 times. The season's defining moment of defiance for the tifosi was a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Juventus at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, secured by a Fuser goal. It was a pivotal year that marked the beginning of the Mario Cecchi Gori era and laid the foundation for the arrival of future star Gabriel Batistuta.
