Notes

The 1991-92 campaign delivered a glorious and historic triumph for Leeds United, as The Whites, under the firm guidance of manager Howard Wilkinson, dramatically clinched the final Football League First Division title before the launch of the Premier League. The championship was built on the immense, gritty midfield leadership of captain Gordon Strachan, Gary McAllister, David Batty, and Gary Speed, and anchored by prolific striker Lee Chapman, who scored a decisive 16 league goals. Their title was confirmed in the penultimate game, finishing ahead of rivals Manchester United. The season also saw the mid-season arrival of the enigmatic Frenchman Eric Cantona, who added crucial attacking spark and remains a defining chapter of the club's unforgettable success.
