Notes

The 1991-92 campaign delivered Torino's most successful season of the decade, as Il Toro finished a brilliant 3rd in a fiercely competitive Serie A under the guidance of Emiliano Mondonico. The year's defining chapter, however, was a dramatic, heartbreaking run to the UEFA Cup Final, where they eliminated Real Madrid before losing to Ajax on away goals in a final immortalized by Riccardo Sordo's late, agonizing shot hitting the crossbar. Leading the charge was the elegant midfielder Enzo Scifo, whose 9 league goals proved vital alongside overall top scorer Walter Casagrande. This ambitious side, featuring stars like Gianluigi Lentini and Rafael Martín Vázquez, firmly re-established the club as a major force in Italian and European football and remains a pivotal, legendary moment in the club's folklore.. The 1992-93 campaign was a season of glory and grit for Torino as Il Toro dramatically clinched their fifth Coppa Italia title, defeating eternal rivals Roma in a famous, nerve-shredding final on the away goals rule. While the team finished 9th in Serie A, the cup triumph defined the year. Leading the strike force was Uruguayan forward Carlos Aguilera, whose 12 league goals topped the scoring charts. The final was etched in club history, with a 3-0 first-leg win followed by a desperate 5-2 loss in the second, where Torino's last-gasp defensive heroics secured the coveted silverware despite intense pressure.
