Notes

The San Jose Sharks celebrated their inaugural NHL season in 1991-92, bringing professional hockey to the Bay Area at the historic Cow Palace. While the expansion team faced the typical challenges of a new franchise, the season was highlighted by the exciting debut of second-overall draft pick Pat Falloon, who led the team with 25 goals and 59 points. Veteran defenseman Doug Wilson provided essential leadership as the first captain in franchise history, and goaltender Jeff Hackett earned team MVP honors for his resilient play. The Sharks recorded their first-ever victory on October 8, 1991, with a 4-3 win over the Calgary Flames, marking a foundational step for the organization and its passionate growing fanbase.
