Notes

The 1994-95 campaign delivered ultimate heartbreak for Genoa as The Griffins, despite the efforts of their star forward, were tragically relegated from Serie A after a tense play-out. The club finished level on points with Padova in 15th place, forcing a winner-take-all tie-breaker in Florence. After the match finished 1-1, Genoa lost the dramatic penalty shootout 5-4, confirming their devastating drop to Serie B and ending a 12-year spell in the top flight. Spearheading the attack in this tumultuous year was the Czech cult hero Tomáš Skuhravý, whose 12 crucial league goals proved his enduring value alongside teammates like John van 't Schip and new arrival Kazuyoshi Miura. It remains a painful, defining chapter that marked the end of an era for the Rossoblu faithful.
