The 1994-95 campaign was one of incredible drama and attacking excitement for Tottenham as they overcame a massive pre-season financial crisis and the threat of a points deduction to secure a 7th-place finish. The season was defined by the sensational signing of World Cup winner Jürgen Klinsmann, whose prolific 20 league goals (and iconic debut diving celebration) instantly made him a cult hero and earned him the FWA Player of the Year award. Under manager Gerry Francis, who replaced Ossie Ardiles mid-season, the team established a deadly partnership between Klinsmann and Teddy Sheringham and enjoyed a memorable run to the FA Cup semi-final, which included a thrilling quarter-final victory against Liverpool at Anfield, marking a true high point for Spurs in the Premier League era.
