Notes

The 1995-96 campaign saw Sampdoria, under the attacking philosophy of manager Sven-Göran Eriksson, secure an 8th-place finish in Serie A. Despite a mid-table standing, the Blucerchiati were a thrilling side, scoring 59 league goals, a total only bettered by champions Milan and Lazio. Spearheading this potent attack was the sensational young striker Enrico Chiesa, whose phenomenal 22 goals in just 27 appearances propelled him near the top of the Capocannoniere race. The season was defined by his lethal partnership with club legend Roberto Mancini and the midfield brilliance of Christian Karembeu and Clarence Seedorf, remaining a memorable chapter of attacking flair in the club's modern history.
