Notes

The 1996-97 campaign was a glorious triumph for AS Monaco, with Les Monegasques, led by manager Jean Tigana, clinching the Division 1 title and securing a Champions League spot. Spearheading the charge was the prolific Brazilian striker Sonny Anderson, whose 19 league goals earned him the Ligue 1 Best Player award. The historic squad famously featured emerging French talents like a young Thierry Henry and David Trezeguet, alongside World Cup winners Fabien Barthez and Emmanuel Petit, also reaching the UEFA Cup semi-finals.
