Notes

The 1996 Philadelphia Eagles enjoyed a successful campaign, matching their previous 10-6 record and securing a second consecutive playoff berth. Under head coach Ray Rhodes and offensive coordinator Jon Gruden, the team featured a high-powered offense led by Pro Bowlers Ricky Watters, Irving Fryar, and William Fuller. A major highlight was a thrilling 31-21 road victory over the rival Dallas Cowboys, capped by a memorable 104-yard combined interception return for a touchdown. The season also marked a new era for the franchise with the debut of their iconic midnight green uniforms and the selection of future Hall of Fame safety Brian Dawkins in the NFL Draft. The 1997 Philadelphia Eagles season was highlighted by several strong individual performances, including wide receiver Irving Fryar's impressive 1,316-yard receiving campaign and running back Ricky Watters surpassing 1,100 rushing yards. Under head coach Ray Rhodes, the team demonstrated home-field strength at Veterans Stadium with a 6-2 record, featuring a signature 10-9 win over the defending champion Green Bay Packers and a high-scoring 44-42 victory against the Cincinnati Bengals. The season also saw the continued development of future stars like Brian Dawkins and the emergence of young quarterback Bobby Hoying.
