Notes - Extremely rare player shirt believed to have been worn by Salsano for the Serie A match against Roma, played at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on 16th February 1997. A close game saw the visitors claim a 2-1 win after goals from Francesco Moriero and Abel Balbo whilst future Roma star Vincenzo Montella netted what was only a consolation for Samp. Salsano started on the bench but came on for Vincenzo Iacopino on 57 minutes. The veteran was in his 4th season back with the side having returned from Roma in 1993. He made 25 appearances in all competitions as Samp finished 6th in Serie A. He had previously starred for the Blucerchiati between 1979-90 and had helped the side lift four Coppa Italia titles and the European Cup Winner's Cup in 1990.
