Notes

Classic design home shirt as worn, for a notably short period, by iconic German forward Jurgen Klinsmann. Sampdoria secured the German's signature in the summer of 1997, with Klinsmann departing Bayern Munich in search of regular minutes in order to secure a spot in the national team ahead of the 1998 World Cup. Unfortunately for Klinsmann, he was hampered with injuries and poor form and left the following January, as he returned to Tottenham Hotspur. Sampdoria would finish 9th in their Serie A campaign, thanks to an impressive 20 league goals from Vincenzo Montella
