Notes

The 1997-98 Charlotte Hornets enjoyed a highly successful season, finishing with a strong 51-31 record to secure the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference. Under head coach Dave Cowens, the team featured a potent lineup led by All-Star Glen Rice, who averaged 22.3 points per game, alongside standout contributions from Anthony Mason, Vlade Divac, and newly acquired guards David Wesley and Bobby Phills. The season was highlighted by a remarkable ten-game winning streak and a thrilling first-round playoff victory over the Atlanta Hawks, marking the second time in franchise history the team advanced to the Conference Semifinals. The 1998-99 Charlotte Hornets displayed remarkable resilience during a lockout-shortened season, overcoming a difficult start to finish with a winning 26-24 record. Under the leadership of head coach Paul Silas, the team found its rhythm with a spectacular nine-game winning streak in April and remained in playoff contention until the final day of the season. The campaign was highlighted by the exceptional play of Eddie Jones, who earned All-Defensive Second Team honors, and David Wesley, who provided steady leadership as the team finished sixth in the league in home attendance.
