Notes

The 1997-98 campaign was a season of spectacular overachievement for Mallorca as Los Bermellones, freshly promoted and led by new manager Héctor Cúper, surged to a club-best 5th-place finish in La Liga, securing a coveted spot in the Cup Winners' Cup. This remarkable success was spearheaded by the prolific Argentinian striker Gabriel Amato, whose 13 league goals proved vital in a campaign also defined by a memorable run to the Copa del Rey Final, where they were agonizingly defeated on penalties by Barcelona. It was a pivotal year that cemented the club's new status in the top flight and remains a legendary chapter in their modern history.. The 1998-99 campaign, under manager Héctor Cúper, was a historic season of unprecedented success for Los Bermellones, culminating in a stunning 3rd-place finish in La Liga which secured the club's first-ever qualification for the UEFA Champions League. Leading the charge was prolific striker Dani García, whose 12 league goals were pivotal. However, the season is truly defined by their glorious run to the final of the last-ever UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, where they narrowly fell 2-1 to Lazio, having already secured a major trophy by winning the Supercopa de España. This unforgettable year, featuring stars like Carlos Roa and Ariel Ibagaza, cemented Mallorca's status as a formidable force.
