  • Competition - UEFA Euro 2000 Qualifying - Italy topped Group 1 overall but it wasn't smooth sailing. The Azzurri suffered unlikely stalemates to Switzerland, Belarus (twice) and a 3-2 loss to Denmark in Naples. They did however win their other games meaning the Italians narrowly finished 1st with 15 points.
