Notes

The 1998-99 campaign delivered an impressive return to the Premier League for Middlesbrough as The Boro, under manager Bryan Robson, soared to a solid 9th-place finish, their highest in over two decades. Leading the line was the enigmatic Colombian striker Hamilton Ricard, whose 15 league goals, including a spectacular brace in a famous 3-2 upset victory over champions Manchester United at Old Trafford, proved vital. The season, which also featured the flamboyant and influential presence of icon Paul Gascoigne and the returning defender Gary Pallister, was built on moments of brilliant attacking flair and a consistent performance that comfortably secured their top-flight status.. The 1999-00 campaign delivered a stable, mid-table season for Middlesbrough as The Boro secured a 12th-place finish in the Premier League under manager Bryan Robson. Spearheading the attack was Colombian striker Hamilton Ricard, whose 12 league goals topped the scoring charts in a satisfactory year for the club. The season also marked the final turbulent chapter for star Paul Gascoigne at the club, whose campaign was unfortunately cut short in February due to a broken arm, making it a memorable period for the Riverside faithful.
