Home shirt as worn during the period 1998-00. The Oranje wore this iconic Nike kit at the 1998 World Cup in France where Gus Hiddink's side topped their Group on goal difference ahead of Mexico, Belgium and South Korea. In the knockout rounds they beat Yugoslavia and then Argentina where Bergkamp scored one of the most notorious World Cup goals before losing out to Brazil in a heartbreaking shootout. This design continued to be worn up until just before the nation co-hosted Euro 2000 with neighbouring Belgium. As co-hosts they qualified automatically for the tournament and thus this kit was worn in a series of high profile friendlies ahead of the showcase including a thrilling 5-5 draw with the Belgians in September 1999 and in a trio of matches against Brazil.
