The Nashville Predators embarked on their inaugural 1998-99 season, securing 28 wins and 63 points under head coach Barry Trotz. The campaign was highlighted by the leadership of first-ever captain Tom Fitzgerald and draft pick David Legwand, alongside goaltenders Mike Dunham and Tomas Vokoun. Although the expansion team finished fourth in the Central Division and missed the postseason, they provided fans with competitive hockey and established a strong foundation for the franchise's future.
