Player - Hot headed German international defensive midfield titan Steffen Freund #4
Features
Notes - Very rare player shirt believed to have been worn by Freund for the Premier League match against Liverpool, played at Anfield on 1st May 1999. A thrilling game saw Spurs go into the break 2-0 up after a Jamie Carragher own goal and Steffen Iversen strike. A second half capitulation though meant the hosts turned the tables to run out 3-2 winners following goals from Redknapp, Ince and McManaman. Freund played 67 minutes before coming off for Tim Sherwood having picked up a booking as he so often did. The German international joined the side this season from Dortmund having won the Champions League and two Bundesliga titles with BVB. He made 25 appearances in all competitions this year helping Spurs lift the League Cup and stayed on at White Hart Lane until 2003 when he joined Kaiserslautern.
