Notes - Extremely rare player shirt believed to have been issued to Knavs for the Champions League Third Round Qualifying 1st Leg match against Valencia, played at Tivoli Stadion Tirol on 9th August 2000. The reigning Austrian Bundesliga title holders were looking to qualify for the Group stage for the first time in their history and La Liga outfit Valencia stood in their way. A close game in Innsbruck ended in a 0-0 stalemate here meaning it was all still to play for at the Mestalla a fortnight later. Knavs played the full match in a bad tempered affair that saw 10 bookings dished out by English referee Mike Riley. Tirol went on to fall to a 4-1 defeat in Spain and thus had to settle for a spot in UEFA Cup. Knavs was in his fourth season with the side after joining from Olimpija Ljubljana. He made 37 appearances in all competitions this season as the side retained their League title and opted to join German outfit Kaiserslautern at the end of the campaign. The 65 time Slovenian international wore short sleeves in this fixture and this shirt is believed to have been a long-sleeved spare prepared to match-specifications ahead of the game.
