Notes

The 2000 Philadelphia Phillies season was highlighted by several outstanding individual performances and the promising arrival of future stars. Outfielder Bobby Abreu had a stellar year, batting .316 with 25 home runs, while Scott Rolen earned his second Gold Glove Award and led the team with 26 home runs. The season also featured the exciting Major League debut of future franchise icon Jimmy Rollins and the emergence of young pitcher Randy Wolf, who led the staff with 11 wins. Although the team finished with a 65-97 record, fans at Veterans Stadium witnessed a competitive June surge and the continued development of a talented young core that would eventually lead the club back to postseason success. The 2000s were a transformative decade for the Philadelphia Phillies, beginning with a period of transition at Veterans Stadium and culminating in a historic 2008 World Series championship. The team moved into Citizens Bank Park in 2004 and cultivated a powerful core of home-grown talent, including MVP winners Ryan Howard and Jimmy Rollins, alongside stars like Chase Utley and Cole Hamels. This era of excellence saw the Phillies claim three consecutive National League East titles from 2007 to 2009 and reach back-to-back World Series, solidifying their status as one of the most successful and exciting teams in baseball.
