The 2001-02 campaign was a season of flair and consolidation for Brescia as Le Rondinelle finished 13th in Serie A under manager Carlo Mazzone. Leading the charge was the breakthrough star Luca Toni, whose 13 goals proved vital in a campaign built on the attacking genius of veteran Roberto Baggio and the presence of Pep Guardiola. It was a memorable year that saw the club reach the Coppa Italia Semifinals and secure its top-flight status, defined by the potent partnership between Baggio and the emerging Toni.
