Having started his career at West Bromwich Albion not knowing a word of English at 18 years old in 1998, Maresca left the midlands side after a club record sale with 47 appearances and 5 goals and returned to Italy in January 2000. His career started off slow in Turin, being loaned to Bologna in 00-01 and Piacenza in 02-03. However, in the 01-02 season Enzo scored a significant equaliser in the Derby della Mole in which he mimicked Marco Ferrante's "bull-horn" celebration (pictured), a symbol of Torino's image. After 58 appearances and 6 goals for I Bianconeri across three seasons amongst two loan-spells elsewhere, Maresca was sold to Fiorentina in a co-ownership deal after disagreements about his contract renewal.
