Notes

The 2001-02 campaign delivered another successful chapter in the legendary "EuroCelta" era for Celta Vigo, as Os Celestes secured an impressive 5th-place finish in La Liga, ensuring qualification for the UEFA Cup. Under manager Víctor Fernández, the squad, built around the creative genius of Russian stars Alexandr Mostovoi and Valery Karpin, was a consistent force, maintaining a top-six position throughout the entire season. Leading the charge with his characteristic flair was the prolific Brazilian-Spanish striker Catanha, whose 17 league goals anchored the attack and contributed to a strong +18 goal difference. Though their cup runs in the Copa del Rey and UEFA Cup ended in the second round, the season cemented the club's status as a formidable European contender.. The 2002-03 campaign delivered a historic high point for Celta Vigo as Os Celestes finished a magnificent 4th in La Liga, securing their first-ever qualification for the UEFA Champions League. Spearheading the attack was the Brazilian forward Edu, whose 11 goals proved vital in a campaign built on the creative brilliance of Aleksandr Mostovoi and the tactical guidance of Miguel Ángel Lotina. It was a triumphant year that marked the culmination of the iconic 'Euro Celta' era and remains a defining chapter in the club's modern history.
