Notes

The 2001-02 Minnesota Wild season was a year of significant growth for the young franchise, highlighted by a strong start that saw the team go unbeaten in its first seven games. Under the leadership of head coach Jacques Lemaire, the Wild showcased a balanced offensive attack led by Andrew Brunette's 69 points and a breakout 30-goal campaign from budding superstar Marian Gaborik. Although they finished the season with 73 points and missed the postseason, the team demonstrated remarkable resilience and a competitive spirit that laid a solid foundation for the organization's future success. The 2002-03 season was a historic breakthrough for the Minnesota Wild, as the third-year franchise secured its first-ever playoff berth with an impressive 42-29-10-1 record. Under the guidance of Jack Adams Award-winning coach Jacques Lemaire, the team utilized a disciplined defensive style and received stellar goaltending from the duo of Dwayne Roloson and Manny Fernandez. The postseason was truly magical, as the Wild became the first team in NHL history to overcome 3-1 series deficits twice in one playoff year, defeating both the Colorado Avalanche and the Vancouver Canucks to reach the Western Conference Finals. Leading scorers Marian Gaborik and Andrew Brunette provided the offensive spark that ignited the State of Hockey and established the Wild as a legitimate force in the league.
