Home shirt as worn when Boro managed an 11th place finish in the Premier League under influential manager Steve McClaren. Despite losing returning Brazilian icon Juninho for a large part of the campaign, Boro started the season well with the signings of Maccarone and Boateng giving Boro fans hope of a successful season. However after a classy 3-0 win away at Spurs, Boro seems to collapse, losing the next 8 away games without scoring, seeing the side drop down to 12th place. McClaren went into the January transfer market to help stop the decline in form, but it was the return to fitness of Juninho that was the catalyst that Boro needed, with the Brazilian returning in a £6m deal at the start of the season
