Notes

The 2002-03 campaign delivered a triumphant return to the top flight for Sampdoria as the Blucerchiati finished a crucial 2nd in Serie B, securing automatic promotion back to Serie A after a four-year absence. Leading the charge was the prolific forward Fabio Bazzani, whose 16 goals proved decisive in a campaign built on fierce momentum and the inspiring leadership of captain Francesco Flachi. It was a legendary year that marked the club's successful fight to restore its place among the elite and remains a defining chapter in the modern history of the Blucerchiati.
