The 2002-03 campaign was a season of dramatic, goal-laden resurgence for Swindon Town as The Robins secured a respectable 10th-place finish in the Second Division. Leading the charge was the newly-signed striker Sam Parkin, whose phenomenal 25 league goals earned him the division's Golden Boot and the nickname "Super Sam" after he scored a memorable hat-trick on his debut. It was a pivotal year built on the exciting attacking threat of Parkin under manager Andy King, marking a significant step forward for the club in their fight to return to the higher divisions.
