The 2002-03 campaign was a season of soaring hope and eventual heartbreak for West Bromwich Albion, marking their first return to the top flight after a seventeen-year absence. Under manager Gary Megson, The Baggies battled hard but ultimately finished 19th in the Premier League, resulting in relegation back to the First Division. Leading the charge for goals were joint-top league scorers Danny Dichio and Scott Dobie, each notching 5 goals, with Dichio finishing as the overall top scorer (8 goals) thanks to an unforgettable FA Cup hat-trick. It was a defiant chapter that heralded West Brom's first taste of the Premier League era.
