Notes

The 2002-03 campaign saw Les Bleus secure a mid-table 12th-place finish in the newly-branded Ligue 1 under the guidance of manager Gérard Gili. Leading the charge was the veteran striker Florian Maurice, whose 10 league goals proved crucial in a season that saw the arrival of talents like Laurent Batlles and a loan spell for a young Grégory Vignal. It was a solid year of consolidation for the club, cementing their place in the top flight.. The 2003-04 campaign delivered a dramatic, nail-biting survival for Bastia as Les Bleus clung onto their top-flight status, finishing a crucial 17th in Ligue 1 and narrowly avoiding relegation by a single point. Leading the charge in a tumultuous year was the veteran striker Florian Maurice, whose 8 league goals proved decisive for a side that had to navigate the mid-season departure of key players and the earlier loss of star midfielder Michael Essien to Lyon. Featuring a mix of experience and emerging talent like Pascal Chimbonda and Alou Diarra, the campaign was built on sheer grit and remains a defining chapter of the club's battle to remain in the French elite.
