The Phoenix Suns enjoyed a revitalizing 2002-03 season, returning to the playoffs with a 44-38 record and finishing fourth in the Pacific Division. The campaign was highlighted by the sensational debut of Amar'e Stoudemire, who became the first player drafted out of high school to win the NBA Rookie of the Year award. Led by All-Star Stephon Marbury and the versatile Shawn Marion, the Suns showcased an exciting, up-tempo style of play and demonstrated their competitive grit by pushing the top-seeded San Antonio Spurs to six games in the first round of the playoffs. The 2003 NBA Rookie of the Year and a six-time All-Star, Amar'e Stoudemire was a dominant power forward for the Phoenix Suns who earned five All-NBA selections and was inducted into the franchise's Ring of Honor.
