Notes
The 2003-04 campaign was a frustrating one in Ligue 1 for Bordeaux, as Les Girondins slumped to a disappointing 12th-place finish following the mid-season sacking of manager Élie Baup. Despite the domestic struggles, the team enjoyed a thrilling European adventure, reaching the UEFA Cup Quarter-finals before narrowly falling to eventual champions Valencia, with the attack led by the joint 7-goal haul from Juan Pablo Francia and Jean-Claude Darcheville in a season defined by transition.
