Notes

The 2003-04 campaign delivered a miraculous season of comeback for Fiorentina as La Viola, having been controversially parachuted directly into the expanded 24-team Serie B, finished a crucial 6th place. Leading the charge in the record-long 46-match season was the prolific centre-forward Christian Riganò, whose 23 goals proved vital. The campaign culminated in a dramatic two-legged play-off victory against Serie A's Perugia, secured by two goals from Enrico Fantini. Anchored by club icon Angelo Di Livio, who stayed through the club's re-establishment, this unforgettable season marked La Viola's incredible return to the top flight just two years after bankruptcy.. The 2004-05 campaign was a dramatic, nail-biting return for Fiorentina to Serie A, following the club's re-establishment after bankruptcy and a two-year absence. Despite a new-look squad featuring Giorgio Chiellini and Hidetoshi Nakata, La Viola quickly plunged into a tense relegation fight that defined their season. Leading the charge was the clinical forward Fabrizio Miccoli, whose 12 crucial goals proved vital in a campaign marked by managerial turbulence. The season reached its emotional climax under coach Dino Zoff, with a memorable 3-0 victory over Brescia on the final day securing their 16th-place finish and top-flight survival.
