The 2003 Milwaukee Brewers season, the first under manager Ned Yost, was highlighted by several outstanding individual performances and the continued development of young talent. First baseman Richie Sexson enjoyed a career year, slugging 45 home runs and driving in 124 runs to earn an All-Star selection alongside outfielder Geoff Jenkins. The team also saw the emergence of rookie Scott Podsednik, who finished second in the NL Rookie of the Year voting after batting .314 with 43 stolen bases, providing a bright spark for the future at Miller Park.
