Notes

The 2003 New York Mets season was a year of transition and individual promise, marked by the arrival of manager Art Howe and the debut of future star Jose Reyes. While the team finished with a 66-95 record, fans enjoyed stellar performances from veteran pitcher Steve Trachsel, who won 16 games, and Al Leiter, who posted a solid 15 wins. The season also featured the continued excellence of All-Star catcher Mike Piazza and provided a platform for young talent like Ty Wigginton, who earned a spot on the Topps All-Star Rookie Team. A four-time All-Star and the 2011 NL batting champion, José Reyes was a dynamic shortstop for the New York Mets who retired as the franchise's all-time leader in triples and stolen bases.
