The 2004-05 campaign delivered ultimate silverware for Auxerre, culminating in a triumphant Coupe de France victory in the final season of the legendary manager Guy Roux's 44-year tenure. L'AJA secured the trophy with a dramatic 2-1 final win over CS Sedan, featuring the decisive goals from Benjani Mwaruwari and Bonaventure Kalou. In the league, the team achieved a respectable 8th-place finish, led by Benjani's 11 goals, while also enjoying a successful run to the Quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup. It was a historic year that celebrated a final piece of cup glory for one of the club's most iconic eras.
