The 2004-05 campaign was a tense and turbulent season for Borussia Monchengladbach as Die Fohlen battled through significant managerial turmoil to secure a crucial 15th-place finish and stave off relegation. The club, playing its first season in the new Stadion im Borussia-Park, cycled through three head coaches, including Dick Advocaat, before veteran Horst Köppel ultimately guided the team to safety. Leading the charge was the newly-signed forward Oliver Neuville, whose 12 goals proved decisive in a campaign built on sheer grit and a determined fight for top-flight survival. It was a nervy year that marked the team's successful battle to secure their Bundesliga status and remains a defining chapter in their modern history.
