Notes

The 2004-05 campaign was a season of devastating scandal for Genoa as The Griffins were stripped of their Serie B title and finished 22nd in the league table due to the "Caso Genoa" match-fixing affair. This crushing blow resulted in their demotion to Serie C1, despite having initially won the league and celebrated a joyous return to the top flight. Leading the charge on the pitch, before the shocking revelation, was the brilliant Argentine striker Diego Milito, whose prolific 21 league goals proved vital in a campaign that remains a painful but defining chapter in the club's long and turbulent history.
