Notes
Third shirt as worn in a turbulent season for Los Blancos as the side went through 3 different managers and finished 4 points behind fierce rivals Barcelona. Madrid started the season under the stewardship of José Antonio Camacho, but by September he had been replaced by Mariano Garciá Remón. Remón was replaced on the 30th of December by Vanderlei Luxemburgo, immediately sparking a remarkable 7 game-winning run to put the side back in contention. Los Blacos’ run was ended by Athletic Bilbao, after a couple of losses to Deportivo and Getafe, the side once again put an astonishing 10 match unbeaten run together to close the season off and put pressure on their great rivals Barcelona, however it would be the Catalans lifting the trophy at the end of the season
