The 2004-05 campaign delivered a respectable mid-table finish for Swindon Town as the Robins settled for 12th place in League One. Leading the charge was the prolific centre-forward Sam Parkin, whose 23 league goals proved vital in a campaign built on his attacking brilliance and the drama of a run to the Football League Trophy Southern Area Final. It was a season of consolidation that marked the club's continued push to climb back up the divisions and remains a defining chapter in the club’s modern history.
