The 2004 Texas Rangers season was a significant turning point for the franchise, as the team achieved its first winning record since 1999, finishing 89-73. Under the leadership of AL Manager of the Year Buck Showalter, the Rangers remained in postseason contention until the final week of the season and featured a high-powered offense led by All-Stars Michael Young, Alfonso Soriano, and Mark Teixeira. The campaign was further highlighted by the veteran presence of Kenny Rogers, who earned both an All-Star nod and a Gold Glove Award while leading the pitching staff.
