The 2004 Milwaukee Brewers season was a year of transition and hope as the franchise continued to build its foundation at Miller Park. A major highlight for fans was the stellar performance of ace Ben Sheets, who established himself as one of the league's premier pitchers with an All-Star selection and a dominant 264-strikeout campaign. The offense was bolstered by the arrival of first baseman Lyle Overbay, who led the team with a .301 batting average and a franchise-record 53 doubles, while young talents like J.J. Hardy began to emerge. Though the team finished with a 67-94 record, the season offered plenty of entertainment, including the unique excitement of the team being featured in the film Mr. 3000.
