Notes

The 2005-06 campaign delivered a triumphant return to the top for Celtic as The Bhoys, under the new management of Gordon Strachan, clinched the Scottish Premier League title with an emphatic first-place finish. Leading the charge was the prolific forward John Hartson, whose 18 league goals, and 20 goals overall, matching Maciej Żurawski, proved decisive in a campaign that was also capped by a Scottish League Cup victory. After a difficult start to the season, the team showed incredible resilience, setting an SPL record with an 8-1 win against Dunfermline and sealing the championship early with a memorable 1-0 victory over nearest rivals Hearts. It was a pivotal season that marked Strachan's immediate success and firmly re-established Celtic's domestic dominance.
