Notes

The 2005-06 campaign for Cheltenham Town delivered ultimate triumph, as The Robins fought through a thrilling year to secure a memorable promotion. Finishing 5th in League Two, the team, guided by manager John Ward, saw striker Kayode Odejayi notch 11 league goals and gain national attention for his performance in a dramatic televised FA Cup Fourth Round tie against Premier League Newcastle United. The season's destiny hinged on the play-offs, culminating in a tense final at the Millennium Stadium. There, a solitary, fortuitous strike from Steve Guinan edged out Grimsby Town 1-0, securing the club's dramatic and hard-fought ascent back into League One. It remains a historic and defining chapter for The Robins.
