Notes

The 2005 Chicago Bears enjoyed a dominant defensive season, finishing with an 11-5 record and clinching the NFC North title. Led by NFL Defensive Player of the Year Brian Urlacher and a top-ranked scoring defense, the team achieved an eight-game winning streak and earned their first playoff berth since 2001. The season was also highlighted by the return of quarterback Rex Grossman and the emergence of rookie running back Cedric Benson, providing a spark to the offense during their successful postseason push. The 2006 Chicago Bears enjoyed a historic season, finishing with an NFC-best 13-3 record and capturing their first conference championship in 21 years. Led by head coach Lovie Smith and a ferocious defense featuring Pro Bowlers Brian Urlacher and Lance Briggs, the team dominated opponents and reached Super Bowl XLI. The season was highlighted by the record-breaking return skills of rookie Devin Hester and a memorable 24-23 comeback victory against the Arizona Cardinals. A former first-round pick who became a cornerstone of the Chicago Bears' backfield, Thomas Jones rushed for over 3,400 yards and 22 touchdowns while leading the franchise to an appearance in Super Bowl XLI.
