Notes

In the 2005 season, the Dallas Cowboys showed significant improvement under head coach Bill Parcells, finishing with a winning 9-7 record. The year was highlighted by a transformational draft class featuring future Hall of Famer DeMarcus Ware and Pro Bowler Marion Barber, which helped the defense rank 10th in the league. Led by veteran quarterback Drew Bledsoe and a Pro Bowl season from tight end Jason Witten, the team achieved several exciting victories, including a season-opening win over San Diego and a dominant 33-10 win over the rival Eagles. In Bill Parcells' final season as head coach, the 2006 Dallas Cowboys finished 9-7 and secured their first playoff berth in three years. The season was highlighted by the emergence of Pro Bowl quarterback Tony Romo and the explosive play of wide receiver Terrell Owens, who led the team with 13 touchdowns. Despite a narrow Wild Card loss to the Seahawks, the team featured a high-powered offense that ranked fourth in the league in scoring and sent seven players to the Pro Bowl. An undrafted free agent who became a four-time Pro Bowl quarterback, Tony Romo holds multiple Dallas Cowboys franchise records, including career passing yards and touchdowns, before transitioning into a prominent NFL broadcasting career.
