Notes

The 2005 Detroit Lions season featured a promising 3-3 start and was highlighted by a season-opening 17-3 victory over the rival Green Bay Packers. Despite a 5-11 finish and a mid-season coaching transition to interim head coach Dick Jauron, the team saw standout individual performances from wide receiver Roy Williams, who led the team with eight touchdowns, and linebacker Dre Bly, who earned a Pro Bowl selection. In their first season under head coach Rod Marinelli, the 2006 Detroit Lions featured a high-powered passing attack led by Jon Kitna, who became the second quarterback in franchise history to surpass 4,000 passing yards. The season was highlighted by the Pro Bowl performance of wide receiver Roy Williams, who led the NFC with 1,310 receiving yards, and a thrilling season-ending 39-31 victory over the Dallas Cowboys. A three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle and 2004 Second-team All-Pro, Shaun Rogers was a dominant interior force for the Detroit Lions who recorded 37.5 career sacks and blocked 11 kicks during his 13-season NFL career.
